NHS National Communication Awards

A welcome from Colin Douglas, Director of NHS Communications

Colin Douglas

I am delighted to welcome you to communicate09 and I am really looking forward to seeing you in Manchester at what promises to be a diverse and stimulating event.

We have an exciting agenda with some very special guests delivering key speeches and running a rich variety of master classes. You will also have the opportunity to network with your colleagues from across the country.

This conference provides the ideal opportunity for us all to take a short time out to hear from and talk to other communicators and consider the different perspectives and possibilities.

Communications plays an increasingly important role at all levels of NHS organisations and you should be proud of what you do and know that you really do make a difference.

See you on 23 and 24 November!

communicate09 - the conference for senior NHS communicators

communicate09 will build on the success of the inaugural conference and awards for senior NHS communicators held last year – communicate08.

This year, the theme of the conference programme is ‘communications leadership’ and will focus on personal leadership as well as the impact that communications can have at a leadership/ board level.

The challenge for NHS leaders will be to drive up productivity and quality without compromising patient care. Our NHS organisations can only deliver this vision and these messages effectively with the support of their communications teams.

The conference will be an engaging mix of interactive plenary sessions and master classes covering key issues for all senior communicators in the NHS, delivered by key figures from both the public and private sector.

Please note: Nominations for communicate09 are now closed.
